QUESTIONS TO ANSWER

There have been a lot of questions asked about the future of the Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini, but the assistant manager at the club David Platt feels that the Italian is the right manager for the club. Mancini is widely expected to lose his job if City fail to win the FA Cup this season.

The club are already 15 points behind the archrivals Manchester United with no hope of retaining the Premier league title. Even though Mancini has managed to guide City to 2 trophies in the last three seasons, many feel that his time at the Etihad stadium is up.

Mancini failed to win yet another match against Everton after his team crashed to a 2-0 defeat despite having a man advantage for more than 30 min. There was a lot of talk about Guardiola arriving at the club due to the presence of several former Barcelona members at City. However, it is believed that City will now turn their attention towards the Real Madrid man José Mourinho, who is widely tipped to leave the Santiago Bernabeu at the end of the season. Despite spending several million pounds of the owners money, Mancini has been able to win only one Premier league title.

"There is an appreciation of Roberto from the supporters and the owners. The expectancy levels of Roberto Mancini are a lot higher than what people think. If people want to talk about rumours and negatives that is up to them. We can't stop that. If people want to do things like that, they can. All I know is that during his career he has won things. That is what his focus, desire and intensity is about. He won't stop wanting to win things," said Platt. Despite the significant deficit, Mancini urged for focus from his players.
