Manchester City defender Gael Clichy has said that he could be playing for French club Paris St Germain next season. The French club have been spending a lot of money in the recent transfer windows, which of course, is not new to Manchester city.
Paris St Germain are currently managed by former Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti, while they are backed by the Qatari owners, who are once again expected to spend big in the summer transfer window after missing out on the French league title. Montpelier, who had a fraction of the budget of PSG, managed to secure the title on the final day of the season.
Gael Clichy has been one of the names linked with a move to PSG in the summer. The French defender has done nothing to quell the speculation by saying that he would indeed love to play for the club. The 26-year-old has been a regular starter for Manchester City this season and the manager Roberto Mancini will be least pleased to hear this comments. It was only a few seasons ago that Gael Clichy arrived from Arsenal. He won his first Premier league title with his new club this season after a dramatic 3-2 final day match against QPR.
"I'm not going to hide it. Like I've said, Paris is the club of my heart. To say that I want to play for PSG is another thing, but as they say: football goes very quickly, and we don't know what the future holds for us. It's certain that the PSG kit is magical. I'd like to discover my own country's league," Clichy told Surface magazine. Gael Clichy has made 44 appearances in all competitions for Manchester City and will be looking to perform well in the Champions League next season.
