CITY BEAT WATFORD

Manchester City has defeated Watford in a FA Cup match played at Emirates Stadium on Saturday. City won the match quite comfortably by 3-0. With this win, City has made its way into the fourth round of the competition.

Mario Balotelli was left out of the starting line up after his animated conversation with the manager Roberto Mancini while training. Carlos Tevez made a comeback to the starting XI.

On the other hand, the manager of Watford, Gianfranco Zola, made a couple of changes in the starting line up. Troy Deeney and Matej Vydra were given the opportunity to start.

Watford started in an impressive manner and created two decent opportunities in the first half, but, on both the occasions, the City goalkeeper made brilliant saves and prevented the visitors from taking the lead.

City gave Watford the first blow in the 25th minute of the match. Carlos Tevez was the one who took the Citizens ahead. It was a free kick and Tevez didn’t miss the chance. He came up with a blistering shot which sailed into the bottom corner of the net.

Just before the half time break, the score became 2-0 in the favour of Manchester City. Gareth Barry was the man who found the net. It was a clean cross from Milner and Barry deflected the ball past the City goalie with a fantastic header.

City had opportunities in the second half as well, but, they looked a bit relaxed in the second half and as a result, they didn’t quite manage to capitalize on the opportunities.

There were no more goals scored till the 90th minute, but, in the first minute of the stoppage time, Marcos Lopes scored the third goal for City which proved to be the final nail in the coffin.

City’s next match will be a Premier League encounter against Arsenal on Sunday.
